Bula Boys FC Named Fiji’s Sole Representative in OFC Professional League

Fiji will be represented by Bula Boys FC in the inaugural OFC Professional League, while the traditionally strong Ba club has missed out on selection. According to the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) announcement on 29 August 2025, the eight chosen clubs have passed the licensing process and now await final compliance checks before the competition’s launch in January 2026.

The inclusion of Bula Boys FC marks a milestone for Fijian football, as the side becomes the country’s first club to compete in a professional regional tournament. The new league will also serve as Oceania’s direct qualifier for the FIFA Club World Cup 2029, opening a pathway for local players to perform on the global stage.

The confirmed lineup includes Bula Boys FC (Fiji), Hekari United FC (Papua New Guinea), Solomon Kings FC (Solomon Islands), Tahiti United FC (Tahiti), Vanuatu FC (Vanuatu), Auckland FC (New Zealand), Christchurch United FC (New Zealand) and South Melbourne FC (Australia).

The first season will run from January to May 2026, with clubs playing at least 17 matches in a circuit series format hosted across the Pacific. After the regular phase, teams will enter playoff rounds leading to a grand final, which will crown the first-ever professional champion of Oceania.
